The luminous freshness of citrus and star anise, embellished by floral notes, contrasts with the warmth of patchouli, hibiscus seeds and cocoa to confer, through this luminous woody aroma, a unique moment after which everything will be different. With L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme, in 2004, the Guerlain perfumer took a first step towards freshness, showing a warm and cold olfactory contrast. The fresh top notes are inspired by an oriental aniseed drink called arak. The bottom notes feature the gourmand notes of a famous pastry chef's dessert, worked around chocolate and patchouli.
